What's Happening in Yemen?

Yemen is currently suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, with around 80 percent of the population in need of humanitarian aid, including more than 12 million children.. The country has been dealing with a political military crisis that first broke out in 2011, and many people don't have the essentials that are needed to survive their daily lives, like water, food, and shelter. The years of conflict has left Yemenis "hanging on by a thread". This civil war is still going on today and the country is locked in a difficult situation. With the first COVID-19 case confirmed on April 19 and the disease continuing to spread it adds on another emergency to the existing crisis that requires urgent action from the world. To put this into view if Yemen was 100 people, 80 need humanitarian aid to survive, 60 have nothing to eat, 58 have no access to clean water, 52 have no access to healthcare, 11 are malnourished, but keep in mind Yemen is not 100 people it's 28.5 million people ("ICRC"). We need to make sure to step up and take action through donating, or increasing awareness of the people around us.
